Brittany Beck, MA I joined Lotus Point Wellness in 2014 after moving from Minneapolis, Minnesota where I completed my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Adler Graduate School.

I enjoy helping clients gain insight into their lives so they are better equipped to accept or change things that are not going well for them. I am “Adlerian” in my theoretical perspective, which emphasizes a client’s social relationships and the desire for security, significance, and belonging. I find that this approach sprinkled with cognitive behavioral therapy techniques can be especially helpful for clients to both reflect on their lives and feel as though they are getting tangible tools to take home.

I understand that therapy can look different for everyone, so I really take the time to identify what will work best for each client. I encourage clients to participate and take their lives into their own hands. I often use creative methods for connecting with clients in a way that speaks to them such as play therapy, art therapy or Sand tray therapy.

I specialize in working with children and teenagers between ages 12-18 and young adults. I have experience in helping to process the loss that comes with divorce and I enjoy helping families through this very challenging time. I also enjoy connecting with young people who are resistant to therapy and put effort into making my office a safe space to process whatever may be going on in their life. I truly enjoy working with young people and their parents to help navigate these challenging years.

I also see premarital couples using the Prepare and Enrich program, a premarital program that helps couples build a strong foundation before marriage. I find this program allows couples to connect on a deeper level and establishes the strong line of communication essential for marriage.

I know seeking therapy can be daunting at times and that is why I work with families to help make the process as smooth as possible. I offer evening appointments and most weekends and I am happy to collaborate with other professionals in my client’s life such as teachers, doctors, and psychiatrists as requested, to create a cohesive experience. I am very accessible and want my clients to feel cared for and that they are not alone.

I feel honored to work with my clients and to walk alongside them as they navigate the ups and downs of life.
